What it costs to dump
Fees are by weight. Lehi, American Fork, Highland, Saratoga Springs, Pleasant Grove, Orem and the other member cities pay the resident rate. Alpine, Eagle Mountain, Cedar Fort and Fairfield pay double.
| Load | Member cities | Alpine, Eagle Mountain and other non-members |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 500 lbs (most pickup loads of household junk) | $13 | $26 |
| 501 to 1,000 lbs | $26 | $52 |
| Over 1,000 lbs | $43.50 a ton | $87 a ton |
Cover your load. Uncovered or unsecured loads are charged double (at least $13, up to $50 extra). A cheap tarp and a few straps pay for themselves on the first trip.
Items with their own fee
- Mattress or box spring: $10 for your first one if you live in a member city, then $20 apiece
- Fridge, freezer or AC unit (refrigerant removal): $15 apiece
- TVs, monitors and computers: $10 apiece
- Car and pickup tires: $6.50 apiece. Tires bigger than a 24-inch rim aren't accepted.
- Green waste (branches, brush, lawn clippings): $13 for a pickup load, $26 for a bigger load
Lehi residents: use your dump pass first
Lehi garbage customers get one dump pass a year from the city's Information Center. It has three punches for North Pointe, and each punch covers a load up to 499 lbs. Lehi also rents an oversize dumpster to garbage customers for five days ($350), but it won't take tires, batteries, paint, concrete, dirt or electronics.
What the dump won't take
Paint, chemicals, fuel, propane tanks, asbestos and medical waste need special handling, and the transfer station only takes household hazardous waste in small amounts. Call North Pointe before you bring anything like that. We can't haul those items either.
South Utah County
If you live in Springville or further south, your city likely uses the South Utah Valley Solid Waste District transfer station in Springville. Call them for current rates.
Should you haul it yourself?
For one pickup load of light stuff you can lift yourself, the dump is cheaper: $13 plus your time, gas and a tarp. It stops being a deal when:
- You don't have a truck or trailer, or you'd have to make three or four trips
- It's heavy or awkward: couches, appliances, a hot tub, a whole garage
- There are stairs, a basement or two people's worth of lifting involved
- Your Saturday is worth more than the difference
Our prices start at $89 for a single item and $219 for a quarter trailer, and dump fees, loading and cleanup are included. See the full price table, or send photos and get your exact price.
